Xin [ shin ] noun. Manga artist / Illustrator / “Demon Lord”

Xin is a San Francisco-based freelance artist working on several on-going webtoon, manga series and illustrations.

Born and raised in China, Xin found their love for art at a very young age. Their strong foundation in art was fully established during 3 years of academic training in high school. And from gaining their MFA illustration degree in the US, Xin develops a wide range of skill in concept art, graphic novel and art direction. From the age of 14, Xin has decided their dream as a manga artist. Besides their deep love for anime and manga, growing up with multicultural movies, novels, history and philosophy, Xin has developed a focused interest on the aesthetic of mythology and Sci-fi (Mecha), and a strong sense of agenda to explore manga into an entertainment that carries more mature and meaningful messages. Flourished by a wide range of understanding and curiosity in both eastern and western cultures. They wishe to explore the complexity of humanity and cherishes peace, harmony and understanding in their work as well as promoting many multicultural heritages such as their visual and wisdom.

In 2013, Xin finished their first manga Sin of G from high school and got nominated as top 200 best manga in Jinglong Award, China.

In 2016 Xin won the American Society of Illustrator Merit Award, Hii Illustration Merit Award and 3x3 International Merit Award.

In 2021, after a few years of wandering, Xin continued their career back to the focus of manga, her manga collaboration Kill the Gods with Brandon Chen and Jordan Chambers is the 6th most read manga on Medibang.

In 2022, Xin worked as a lead artist for Webtoon Kinfire, building the new IP in collaboration with the producer of Arcane and Brandon Chen.

At the current moment, Xin is passionately climbing the ladder as an artist, they accept commercial work on concept art and illustration, and offer personal art mentoring. Contact them at:
